Are you looking for a unique way to express yourself and learn something new? Look no further than Franklin University Switzerland Dance Project! This exciting program is a joint effort born from the collaboration between FUS and Lugano Arte e Cultura.

At FUS, we believe in experiential learning, which means getting your hands dirty and learning by doing. That's why we're integrating dance and movement training into our students' learning experiences. We're breaking down disciplinary boundaries and encouraging students and professors alike to step outside their comfort zones. From communication to foreign language to music and art history classes, we're using dance to enhance learning.

Our dance journey began when Professor Sugiyama organized a lesson with choreographer Maria Bonzanigo for her public speaking students. The results were amazing and gave birth to a full dance workshop series that's open to the whole community.

The next dates are coming up soon, on May 18th and 19th at 1:00 pm, so don't miss your chance to join us!

Our Dance Workshop Series, "Equilibrium", is led by international choreographer Maria Bonzanigo of Compagnia Finzi Pasca. These workshops are all about well-being and focus on student mental and physical health. The first workshop took place on the President's Lawn on University Day, April 19th, and it was a huge success. All students, faculty, and visitors were welcome to participate in this introductory and exploratory movement exercise.

Dance Project FlyerThe three workshops are designed for students of all levels, whether they're non-dancers or experienced dancers. These workshops are part of our broader dance education initiatives, which will build over three semesters. The culmination will be part of the second edition of the Lugano Dance Festival in Spring/Summer 2024 hosted by LAC (Lugano Arte e Cultura).

So come join us! Bodily movement and dancing maintain and improve our quality of life: physical fitness, whole-body activity, mind/body coordination, social engagement, and cooperation with others. All bodies are welcome and encouraged to attend. If you have any questions or are interested in attending, you can reach out to Professors Ferrari and Trebici-Marin.

Let's dance our way to better health and a brighter future!
