Franklin University Switzerland is proud to announce the appointment of Paul C. Lowerre ‘77 as the Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees. Mr. Lowerre will also assume the Presidency of Fondazione Università Franklin Svizzera in the coming weeks. University President Samuel Martin-Barbero commented, "The new Board leadership will guide Franklin in our mission to provide an academically rigorous Liberal Arts Education and an internationally focused learning experience within our multicultural community."
Paul Lowerre succeeds the current Chair, Kim Hildebrant '90. With over three decades of experience in the financial sector, Mr. Lowerre currently serves as Senior Vice President of Wealth Management at UBS, New York. He holds a degree from Marymount Manhattan College, where he graduated in 1981, and spent an academic year at Franklin in 1975. This formative experience shaped his global perspective and deepened his understanding of the complexities of international finance. A longstanding supporter and benefactor of Franklin, Mr. Lowerre has served as Trustee since 1995, previously as Chair from 2000 to 2010. In recognition of his contributions, Franklin awarded him an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in 2010.
“We extend our gratitude to the outgoing leadership of the Board for their dedicated service during the past seven years. It is an honor for me to serve again as Chair and I am looking forward to working with our board and supporting President Martin-Barbero and Franklin's 2030 Strategic Plan," Mr. Lowerre said.
"Trustee Lowerre represents both personally and professionally the virtues of Franklin's Liberal Arts model; well-read, well-traveled, well-intended, professionally wise, personally committed with the promotion of Franklin's values as a beacon in a highly competitive landscape," President Martin-Barbero commented.
In addition to Mr. Lowerre's appointment, Jay Tucker ’77 has been elected Vice-Chair, Jennifer Helene Berg ’76 has been elected Treasurer, and Denise H. Alfeld ’88 has been elected Secretary.
