On Friday, November 15th, Franklin alumni gathered at the Houston Beer Hall in New York’s vibrant West Village for an informal social hour. This event was part of the New York Alumni Club’s ongoing efforts to foster connections among its members and provide an opportunity for old friends and new faces to reconnect.

The gathering was made even more special by the presence of Professor Satomi Sugiyama, who was in New York for the Board of Trustees meeting as a representative of the Franklin faculty. Her participation added a personal touch, further strengthening the bond between the university and its alumni.

Co-chairs Julia Houghton and Sonyah Seiden, both from the Class of 2016, led the event. They embodied the Alumni Club's mission to bring together Franklin alumni, strengthen ties within the New York City community, and maintain a connection to their alma mater. The club is committed to organizing regular events to provide opportunities for alumni to engage with one another, share memories, and foster lasting relationships.

For those unable to attend this year’s social hour, don’t worry! The club will continue to hold regular events, ensuring there are plenty of opportunities to reconnect with fellow alumni in the future. Membership in the New York Alumni Club is free, and these gatherings are a fantastic way to stay engaged with the university and the alumni network.

A big thank you to everyone who attended, and we look forward to seeing you at the next gathering!
