Goran Filic, is an Adjunct Professor in Political Science. He received his PhD in Political Science from the University of Milan with his dissertation on regional variations of democratic participation and anti-nationalist politics in wartime Yugoslavia. His research and teaching interests include peace and rational theories, anti-corruption, American foreign policy and EU enlargement and Western Balkans. His work has been published in such journals as: Journal of Peace-building and Development, Journal of Political Perspectives University of Zagreb, Economic Annals University of Belgrade, as well as in edited book by Baden-Baden. Professor Filic, received ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Grant with the University of Bologna for the Postdoctoral Fellowship while he was teaching in Croatia at the Dubrovnik International University. The project involved 25 experts in: International Affairs, EU enlargement policy, American foreign policy, democratization, good governance, anti-corruption, rule of law etc. I was able to build the consortium of five largest universities from Italy, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Albania. As an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampa, Goran regularly contributed to the Faculty Development Talks, Building Student Rapport, "A Sense of Belonging, and Growth Mindset together with the Director from the Center for Teaching and Learning. Prior to joining Franklin University, Goran taught at the University of Tampa and Schiller International University also in Tampa and is currently teaching various IR and political science courses at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin and Swiss Academy Zurich. His current research is on EU Enlargement and Western Balkans, corruption and good governance, and he is presently conducting research on American-European failed democratization and market economies in former Yugoslavia. In his free time Goran is an avid cyclist, skier and swimmer and enjoys occasional triathlon competitions in Dalmatia and Montenegro.
