Robert J. Knorr is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and educator whose career has focused on creating new business ventures in both corporate and start-up settings.
Early in his career with Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Knorr designed a Swiss-based enterprise responsible for over 30 medical device and consumer business units in Europe and the Middle East. As an independent entrepreneur he founded Tapestry Medical, a pioneer in the field of remote patient monitoring, now part of Abbott Laboratories [NYSE:ABT]. His private equity firm - The Cogent Group - has funded over a dozen early stage ventures in health technology and higher education. Over the past five years, his latest venture - Timeless Tartans - has become the fastest growing fashion brand at over 120 universities.
Mr. Knorr has taught “The Entrepreneurial Mindset” at the graduate and undergraduate level at several schools including the University of Pennsylvania, Baylor University, and Drexel University where he also serves on the Advisory Board of the nation’s first accredited, degree-granting school of entrepreneurship.
Mr. Knorr is an undergraduate alumnus of Drexel University (BS) and a graduate alumnus of Fairleigh-Dickinson University (MBA) and the University of Pennsylvania where he earned two advanced degrees (MS, MPhil) and attended the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton Business School.
