Classes will be held Tuesday, February 25 and for the rest of the week. Faculty, staff and students living in Northern Italy are advised to follow the recommendations of their local authorities.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy, the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and cantonal authorities have met but decided not to take restrictive measures at this time. There remain no confirmed cases in Switzerland (as of 17:00 Feb 24). We will provide updates on the Franklin website and via email as needed.

All classes will be held as scheduled tomorrow, Tuesday, February 25, and for the rest of the week. We now recommend that faculty, staff and students living in Northern Italy follow the recommendations of their local authorities. Students, faculty and staff who live in non-affected areas are invited to come to campus.

Please observe the following protocols:

  • Wash your hands frequently. Use water and soap. Rub hands together for 20 seconds. Rinse and dry completely.
  • Sneeze or cough into an elbow or tissue.
  • Avoid crowded places (like Rabadan in Bellinzona).

If you develop flu-like symptoms, please contact Chris Schmid, RN, Coordinator of Student Medical Services and Well Being at medicalservices@fus.edu.

Students that cannot attend classes due to travel restrictions, are invited to contact their professors directly.
