The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and Cantonal authorities have decided not to take restrictive measures related to schools and universities.
For specifics on the COVID-19 developments here in Switzerland, one good source is the Swiss Info website (in English) at https://www.swissinfo.ch/.
The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and Cantonal authorities met today at 4 p.m. and have decided not to take restrictive measures related to schools and universities. They do recommend that everyone on campus follow the preventive hygienic practices to contain the virus.
The FOPH stressed that young people, including college students are less likely to get the virus. Nonetheless, everyone should take all preventive measures in order to protect the most vulnerable, especially the elderly and people with health issues. As a community, we are adopting all of the measures and recommendations available to keep Franklin a safe campus for our students, faculty and staff.
Per the above recommendations, all classes will be held as scheduled. We advise students, faculty and staff living in Northern Italy to follow the recommendations of their local authorities. As always, the health and well-being of our students, faculty and staff members matter most of all. We are actively monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates on the Franklin website and via the Franklin app as needed.
Again, if you are not feeling well, or you are coughing and sneezing, please stay home and take care of yourself. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, please contact Chris Schmid, RN, Coordinator of Student Medical Services and Well Being at medicalservices@fus.edu .
