Celebrating Success and Embracing Tradition: The 2024 Alumni Council Sponsored Graduates' Boat Cruise

On Thursday, May 16, 2024, the Alumni Council proudly sponsored the annual Graduates' Boat Cruise, a beloved tradition designed to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2024 and warmly welcome them into the Franklin Alumni Association. This special event brought together graduating students, trustees, alumni, faculty, and staff for an evening of celebration and connection on Lake Lugano.

Despite the torrential rain earlier in the day, true Franklin spirit prevailed as the skies cleared just as we set sail, exemplifying the resilience and optimism characteristic of our community. The support and enthusiasm of attendees created an unforgettable atmosphere, undeterred by the initial weather challenges.

Emily Boynton ‘09, president of the Alumni Council, set the tone for the evening with her heartfelt welcome address. She commended the graduates on their accomplishments and expressed excitement about their future contributions to the alumni community. Emily’s words resonated deeply, highlighting the enduring bond shared by all Franklin graduates and the importance of staying connected.

As we embarked on our journey across Lake Lugano, sailing towards the picturesque villages of Gandria and Porlezza, graduating students had the unique opportunity to engage with Franklin Trustees, Alumni Council members, and other alumni. These interactions fostered a sense of camaraderie and provided invaluable networking opportunities, bridging the gap between the past and present members of the Franklin community.

The evening was filled with laughter, shared memories, and the forging of new connections, all set against the backdrop of a beautiful, albeit initially stormy, spring evening. The spirit of togetherness was palpable, reaffirming the values that make Franklin such a special place.

As we look to the future, we are confident that the Class of 2024 will continue to embody the spirit of Franklin, contributing to the world in meaningful ways and staying connected to their alma mater. Welcome to the Franklin Alumni Association, Class of 2024!
