Last week was the kick-off for the Meet the Manager 2025 series, which is powered by the Next in Management Team and supervised by the Business and Economics Division. What better way to kick off the year than welcoming a Franklin Alumna, Beatrice Revay ‘97? Beatrice took the students through the evolution of her career in the fashion industry, which ultimately led her to her current position: Head of Global Product Management at Hugo Boss

In her presentation to Franklin students, Beatrice explained the different stages of how to get to the production of a fashion product, delving into advertising, marketing strategies, management, and product development processes. She also explained the success behind Hugo Boss’s “Double B” advertising strategy.

Beatrice went on to discuss the importance of a healthy corporate culture promoting work-life balance followed by her key advice: “Let your passion guide you.” As Walt Disney shared, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” The presentation was followed by a Q&A led by students where many of them asked about sustainability, innovations, and how to get into a similar career path.

This was followed by the announcement of an exciting opportunity for Franklin students: Beatrice's colleague Claudia Tschimben, Team Leader of Global Product Management for Women's Accessories at Hugo Boss, introduced an exciting case study opportunity. Participants will collaborate in groups, guided by Franklin faculty and industry experts from Hugo Boss, to develop a comprehensive product management strategy.

Students

The challenge? To conceptualize and launch a new sustainable accessory under the BOSS brand. Throughout the project, students will conduct market research, explore innovative materials such as recycled leather or plant-based alternatives, and define a strong brand positioning that aligns with Hugo Boss’s premium image. Additionally, they will strategize pricing, sales, and distribution models while crafting a compelling marketing and promotional campaign that highlights sustainability and craftsmanship. This initiative will come to an end in mid-April, when students will have the exclusive opportunity to present their final strategies at the Hugo Boss corporate office in Coldrerio, Ticino.
