Franklin University Switzerland is thrilled to announce its participation in Enjoy Lugano, an exciting event designed to celebrate the start of the new academic year alongside students and citizens of Lugano. Set for Thursday, September 26, from 4:00 PM to 11:30 PM, this event, organized by Lugano Living Lab in collaboration with Franklin University Switzerland, USI, SUPSI, and Lugano Region, offers students a warm welcome into a vibrant community where academic pursuits meet culture, fun, and social connection.
For new and returning Franklin students, Enjoy Lugano is an invitation to explore the heart of the city they will call home. Lugano is a world-class academic destination and offers a place where students can thrive both inside and outside the classroom. With a range of activities planned, Enjoy Lugano is an excellent opportunity for students to engage with local culture, make new friends, and connect with the larger community.
What to Expect: A Fun and Enriching Experience for All
Held across some of Lugano’s most popular locations—Piazza della Riforma, Piazza Manzoni, Piazza Rezzonico, and Parco Ciani—the event promises something for everyone. Students can look forward to free concerts, delicious food, and a lively atmosphere. Julie Meletta and Valentino Vivace, two highly regarded Ticino artists, will perform live, setting the tone for an exciting and engaging evening.
Enjoy Lugano is an event designed for students and shaped by students, offering the perfect platform to actively participate and connect. For those looking for some friendly competition, the University Pedal Boat Race at Rivetta Tell is sure to be a highlight. Students from Franklin, USI, and SUPSI will compete on the waters of Lake Lugano aboard the iconic red pedal boats. This fun and lighthearted relay race promotes community spirit and offers students a chance to bond over shared experiences. And for those cheering from the shore, the excitement will be palpable, thanks to live commentary from RSI BarNüm.

At Piazza Rezzonico, Franklin University Switzerland will be represented at an exhibition village alongside other event partners. Student associations from the three institutions will be there to present their activities, create connections, and enjoy time with their peers.
