LVGA is a cryptocurrency created and implemented by the Lugano Living Lab, the urban lab of the city of Lugano that promotes, researches, and facilitates innovation for the city. The LVGA initiative is part of the Plan B project.
LVGA is a cryptocurrency that Lugano has created in order to facilitate the growth of small to medium businesses in Lugano. Adopting a cryptocurrency for daily activities is neither easy nor common. The MSIM students, building on their specific expertise (digital transformation, responsible management and climate action, and responsible art management) brought their respective skills together to create the marketing and communication plan to support the Lugano Living Lab in the diffusion of my LVGA.
From the student's perspective, it has been a great opportunity not only to be educated on Lugano’s plans with cryptocurrency but also to have the ability to brainstorm and connect their education with a real-world problem. This is representative of many of the projects graduate students develop within the master's program taking their academic knowledge and applying it to real world situations to bridge the gap between academia and real-world scenarios.
