Orientation Week at Franklin University Switzerland is an exciting milestone for both new students and their families. On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, freshmen students stepped into their new lives in Lugano, and the Office of Student Life ensured that every moment of this special week was memorable and supportive for both newcomers and their families.

For students, it was a time of excitement and discovery, with a week packed with activities designed to help them settle in and connect with their peers. From campus tours to info sessions, they quickly learned the ins and outs of university life. But it wasn’t all about academics—fun outings and adventures around the stunning Swiss landscape were a key part of the experience. The highlight for many was the traditional trip to Valle Verzasca, where students explored waterfalls and enjoyed a refreshing swim, fully embracing the beauty of their new surroundings.

Parents, too, had their own set of activities to help them adjust to this new chapter. Franklin understands the mix of pride and concern that comes with sending a child to study abroad. Dedicated sessions provided insights into what life will be like for their children as they navigate independence. The student panel was particularly popular, offering parents a chance to ask questions and hear firsthand from those who had been through it all before.

One of the week’s most cherished events was the President's Reception, held on the beautiful President's Lawn on Kaletsch Campus. This relaxed gathering allowed families to mingle with faculty, staff, and other parents, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

As Orientation Week wrapped up, students and parents alike acquired a sense of excitement and confidence. The week marked the start of an incredible journey at Franklin University Switzerland, one filled with academic growth, personal development, and lifelong friendships.
