Dear Franklin Community,
In this short update, the last week of the u-Smell-it initiative, a reminder about course evaluations, reading days and final exams, and some reminders for students before they head home at the end of the semester.
First, many thanks to those of you who continue to participate in the u-Smell-it initiative. Congratulations to Noor Aljaili, this week’s winner of 100 CHF! The final drawing will take place on Friday, May 7 and announced next week. We appreciate everyone checking their sense of smell with the cards whenever they come to campus. This is especially important as we go into final exams.
Students, if you haven’t already, please take the time to complete any outstanding course evaluations. Your feedback matters to us. You have until Tuesday, May 4 at midnight to complete the evaluations. Also happening today and tomorrow, May 3 and 4, are reading days with time devoted for thesis presentations and defenses. Exams begin on Wednesday, May 5. Students who are on campus should plan to attend exams in person. It goes without saying that everyone must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth during the entire exam period. Windows will be open and desks spaced appropriately.
Finally, after exams, make sure you follow the check-out procedures required relating to housing, Swiss permits, and SWICA. If you have questions, please refer to Dean Deborah’s April 27 email for details or reach out to a member of the OSL staff.
