The Swiss authorities have again changed the way COVID testing expenses are managed. Individuals with symptoms or after having close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID will have their COVID test expenses charged to their health insurance. Individuals who need a negative COVID test certificate for travel or other purposes will be responsible for these expenses.

As a reminder, Franklin continues to require medical-grade masks in all classrooms, meeting spaces (conference rooms, offices, etc.), libraries, auditorium, hallways and common areas of residence halls, during on-campus events/programs, and in shared offices through at least 19 April 2022. Franklin continues to recommend FFP2 masks or equivalent, but any medical-grade mask is acceptable, as long as it does not have a built-in valve.

Students who test positive for COVID and have symptoms are to self-isolate until symptoms subside. Students who test positive for COVID will not be allowed to attend in-person classes or campus activities and need to request to attend classes on-line; students have to provide their professors and the Coordinator of Student Medical Services with proof of a positive COVID test. Students with upper respiratory symptoms (i.e. sneezing, coughing, runny nose), but who test negative for COVID may attend class but need to be particularly vigilant about wearing a mask in all locations and follow the hygiene recommendations: social distancing and frequent hand washing/sanitizing.
