Welcome to the third week of the semester! This week also marks the opening of our Student Satisfaction Inventory, a yearly survey about your experience at Franklin. Students will be receiving an invitation with a link to the survey on Wednesday from the Office of the President. The results help us determine which university aspects are most important to you. Your voice matters in guiding the student experience!
As a reminder, students are encouraged to register for the Franklin by Design program by the February 1 deadline. Two experiential modules are available during Spring Semester: Leadership by Design and My Future My Design. See more information and the registration form.
There have been no further updates to current COVID guidelines in Switzerland. Franklin continues to mandate FFP2/KN95/N95 masks in all campus buildings and indoor areas. As explained last week, the validity of the COVID Certificate has been shortened starting today (January 31, 2022). This means all vaccination and recovery certificates will be valid for only 270 days (formerly 365 days) to align with other EU states. Students should verify their situation and contact medicalservices@fus.edu if they have questions about their health options.
Franklin's policy requires us to notify the community of any positive COVID-19 cases among individuals who were on-campus any time in the five days before their diagnosis. We have two community members who tested positive last week and are in self-isolation. Following protocol, individuals who had close contact without masks were identified during the contact tracing and were instructed to quarantine.
As always, students should immediately contact medicalservices@fus.edu if they develop flu-like symptoms or have close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19, or if they test positive and begin isolating immediately. Students who test positive must send their negative COVID-19 test result to medicalservices@fus.edu before returning to campus. Staff or faculty who tested positive recently will need to send a negative test result to VP Tomaso Rizzi before returning to campus.
