We are pleased to report that we have had no new confirmed positive cases of COVID on campus this past week. Thank you to all students and faculty who supported the post-travel period testing initiative component of our COVID Protection Plan. We are a safer community because of your efforts. We are also happy to report that both individuals who had tested positive in previous weeks are feeling well.
This week we are flying the transgender flag on North Campus in honor of Transgender Awareness Week. At Franklin we are proud of all members of our community, and we encourage you to join us in showing your support. We look forward to flying other pride flags in the future for community recurrences.
With flu season upon us, we recommend that all individuals at risk or who have close contacts with at risk individuals, get their flu shot now. If you would like to sign up for a flu shot, please contact medicalservices@fus.edu. This opportunity is open to all members of the community.
To support and accommodate Franklin students who might not be able to travel home during the COVID pandemic, students may stay in their campus housing this year for a special period between semesters (December 12, 2021 to January 14, 2022). If you wish to stay on campus at any period during the winter break or J-term, you must enroll in at least one J-term course. Students who will be returning to Franklin for the spring semester must indicate their Winter Break plans by making a selection in the Winter Break Moodle site before November 19, 2021. For any questions about winter break housing, please contact Fiona Perdomo.
Lastly, we encourage students leaving for winter break to stay up to date with their destination country's entry requirements. As tourist traffic increases before the holidays, we strongly encourage you to make any required testing arrangements in advance through the following link: https://www.onedoc.ch/en/covid-testing-center/lugano
