Franklin University Switzerland will host a special event on campus dedicated to the U.S. Election on November 5. In anticipation of live election coverage, the event will feature three expert panels with distinguished speakers, including the Mayor of Lugano and the Minister of Education of the Canton of Ticino. This event presents a unique opportunity for the Franklin community, including alumni, to engage in informed discussions with prominent scholars and practitioners. Participants will have the chance to interact with the panelists, contribute to meaningful dialogues, and expand their professional networks.

This event is organized by Professors Bernd Bucher, Elisa Volpi, and Oliver Strijbis from the Division of Communication, History, and Politics.

PURPOSE OF THE EVENT

  • Provide students and staff with the possibility to understand the elections from an analytical point of view, allowing them to participate in discussions on various topics related to the elections.

  • Allow alumni to relate to Franklin and share their own perspectives and experiences with the Franklin community and invited experts.

  • Showcase to the scientific community and interested practitioners the social science expertise at Franklin University.

  • Facilitate exchange with local and Swiss politics and society.
